Gem Circles

I bought these on impulse for my "sparkly things box", because I already have the ticket rainbow acrylic domes. I didn't quite know whether they would be the same kind of thing as the domes, whether they were solid or hollow acrylic, whether they were plasticky or whether they felt like glass, heavy or light, because it doesn't quite describe them exactly on the listing. I also wasn't sure what size they were going to be, as it was hard to visualise. However, I was extremely pleasantly surprised!! They are small - small enough to be held inside a child's hand - (but too big to be swallowed) and really beautiful! As translucent as glass, similar to the domes, very sparkly mini short cylinder shapes, with rounded edges, they are solid (like resin) and have a nice weight to them. They can stack up on top of each other beautifully to make little towers and make gorgeous decorations along the top of wooden block constructions. The colours are absolutely gorgeous, 10 varying rainbow shades, extremely bright and like little crystals, they also refract the light wonderfully so you can make stunning rainbow reflections / shadows with them. They are also fantastic when they're held on the end of a small torch for making coloured light. The children started using them as little food items too. They could represent a cup of drink, a cake, a jelly, soup - they can be inserted inside a hollow stacking cylinder cup to make a little 'cup of liquid. Amazing for open-ended imaginative play. And of course they are great with a light panel as well as on a sunny day with a mirror! They are so appealing that I have immediately bought a second set while they are in the sale! ☺️😀
